“A picture is worth a thousand words.” You’ve heard that old saying, right? Well, we think it’s especially true when it comes to your church website. Good photography speaks volumes on your website. It tells a story. It paints a picture of the people in your community, your church, and its different environments. It gives visitors a glimpse into what your church looks like. That’s why having good photography is essential for your church website! But the reality is, not every church has access to a professional quality photographer who can snap hundreds of pics to find the best 10-30. And not every church has the budget to hire one, either! So what do you do when you want good, quality photography for your website, but you don’t want to break the bank? The answer: stock photos!

Some churches are already visually full of color and beauty. Stained glass with stories of Biblical events and stories surround the worshipper. But, a growing number of churches meet in rented schools, renovated warehouses, or even storefronts. So instead of being distracting, worship visuals might be essential in an environment where even a basic cross can’t be found. Today, visual storytelling is our culture. From motion pictures, video games, and emojis, everything we do involves communication through pictures. With our faith being something we have a mission to pass on and to spread, it would be almost a crime to forgo a growth in our facility with visuals. In worship, a picture can truly act as a thousand words.

Is it necessary? Worthless? Dangerous? Distracting? As a church, if you're spending your money and time on media, it’s perfectly appropriate to ask these kinds of questions. First off, what is “church media?” Essentially, it's anything that is a printed, projected, or visual medium of communication. “Church media” may encompass stage design, the sign out front, the printed bulletins, the pre-reel, the welcome videos, or the sermon PowerPoint.
It's robust, it's powerful, and -- best of all -- it's here! This summer, Clover Image Editor is being released in a BETA version! And we're so excited for you to try it out. Click here to watch the welcome video and see just how much you can learn to do with the new Image Editor! Full use of the Clover Image Editor is included in your Clover membership. There's a bit to learn, but (as always!) we're here for you on that front, too!
We've all done it. We've had to make a sermon slide, or a bulletin insert. We've all seen some really cool designs online, thought, “Oh, I could totally do that.” AND THEN, we try to copy it but for some reason it just doesn’t look as good? Whether you're trying to design text images that will get likes and shares on social media, or you're using graphics and text to come up with an eye-popping presentation, knowing how to make your text stand out is a crucial component. When it comes to graphic design, however, making cool text is often harder than it looks. That is, if you have no idea what you're doing.
There have been church websites before, there have even been websites using Clover Sites. But you've never seen this design before! We’re so excited to deliver a BRAND NEW Clover Sites design to you! It’s called MAJESTY and we hope you’ll think it’s pretty “majestic.” ;-) See what we did there. Haha, take a look
