Transitioning to Clover Sites 3

Clover Sites | Clover Sites 3 | Company News

We're literally just a few days away from the Clover Sites 3 beta launch (starting on June 22nd!), and we wanted to take one last look at the transition process for current customers. Hopefully this gives you guys already using Clover, some good resources you can use to make switching from your current website to CS3 as easy as possible.

Now, keep in mind, you don't have to transition your current website to Clover Sites 3 if you don't want to. And, even if you begin the transition during this early access time, you won't have to finish moving everything over during the three weeks of rollout. You can take as much time as you need, and you won't lose any access to your current site or content during the transition or afterwards. We'll keep both sites running for you for the foreseeable future, which will also give you access to continue using your existing media players and forms until those features are available later on with Clover Sites 3.

Beginning The Transition Process
When you get your invite to the early access of Clover Sites 3 — whether you're on the beta list or purchasing after the official release — you'll head over to your current Dashboard, where you'll find a new banner about Clover Sites 3 on the right hand side of the page, with a button labeled "Start Transition".

Going through these transition steps will end with giving you a special code that you'll use to get your new website with Clover Sites 3. It will waive the upfront $1,000 purchase price, as well as make sure your current and new site are linked.

Moving Over Your Content
Transitioning your website to CS3 does not mean all of your content will automatically transfer to your new site design and be laid out exactly like it is in your existing site. The new features, improved functionality and unlimited space Clover Sites 3 offers, gives you a good opportunity to rethink the design of your website and lay out your content in unique ways.

We also know that some of you have put a lot of time into the content on your current website and may want to continue to use some of those images and text. So we've created a couple tools to make getting your current content into your new website really easy and straightforward.

  1. Transition Mode
After you've purchased your new site design and transitioned to Clover Sites 3, a new button to "Copy Your Text" will appear in your CS Classic Dashboard. Clicking this link will take you into Transition Mode, where you can click to copy all the text on a single page from your current website to paste into your new Greenhouse.

  2. Photo Album Import
In the new Greenhouse, when you first go to add a photo, we've built a tool that shows up in the photo album. With just one click, we can import all your photos from your current site so you can use them again with CS3. (Keep in mind that some of the photos on your current website might not end up being the proper size or quality you want for your new site and high resolution screens).

Media Players, Calendars, and Forms
Until we finish the completely new media players, calendars, and forms, you can continue using and updating your existing ones in your old Greenhouse. This will keep your podcasts running, and allow you to take advantage of these features, linking to them, or embedding them in your new CS3 Greenhouse. We've written a help article about this to help you use these features with Clover Sites 3.
